LSU should keep Ed Orgeron as head coach

Ed Orgeron wasn't born in a hospital like the rest of us. He emerged from the Louisiana swamp as a fully grown man one day, and decided he wanted to coach football. Now I know a quick trip over to Wikipedia says that he's from Larose, Louisiana , but its like our teachers always told us in high school. You simply can't trust Wikipedia. Obviously some disgruntled Ole Miss fan got upset saturday night and changed the page so they could sleep better. Did you know in his first meeting with the Ole Miss football team back in 2005 Orgeron tore off his shirt, and then challenged Rebels players to a wrestling match? Like what the heck. I don't know if I would laughed, been scared or both. Another time he brought in real live rattlesnakes and had the team hold them so they could overcome fear. That second story isn't even true, but can't you see Orgeron doing something like that? Ed Orgeron personifies Louisiana perfectly. He seems a little crazy, a little scary, and a little made up. The title of this article was supposed to be "If Orgeron gets his team to play competitively against Bama then LSU should give him the job". But that doesn't quite roll of the tongue does it? I mean that seems to be what the LSU job is coming down to right? Sure Miles got fired because his offense was from the stone age, but LSU hadn't beat Bama since "the game of the century" in 2011. That's what got Miles fired. Bama evolved and changed with the times. They kept winning championships. Nick "oat meal creme pie" Saban whined about how offense were going "too fast" and how it was making football "a little dangerous". Boohoo give me a break. Saban didn't get his way though so what did he do? He went out and brought Lane Tiffin's career back from the grave and now they run one of the best offenses in the country. The way I see it LSU has two choices: get Jimbo to leave Tallahassee or hire Orgeron. I don't think Jimbo is going to leave what he's got at FSU though. Orgeron's players love him thats not the issue. He's very passionate about the sport and his guys. He brings cookies to the training facilities and the fun back to football. Heck, he went 6-2 as USC's interim coach so he's proven he's learned from his mistakes at Ole Miss and can win. The issue is can he win in the SEC west. I think so because he's clearly a great motivator. LSU's goal to start the season was to win a national championship. That's not going to happen this year because of two early season losses.Yet the Tigers are playing their best football even though their major goals can't be achieved. And it's all thanks to Ed Orgeron. He's got plenty of talent and a fantastic young defensive coordinator in Dave Aranda all he needs is to keep the offense going forward and I think he could be a home run hire.
